It would be an understatement to say that cancer is scary. It’s such a horrific disease that has unfortunately claimed the lives of many. Even though it’s a terrifying disease that can cause so much damage, there are a lot of things you could do to help prevent it. Here’s a small list of natural ways you can avoid cancer:
Stay active. Getting at least 30 minutes of exercise can prove highly beneficial for your health. Studies have shown that sitting throughout most of your day can increase your risk of developing both endometrial and colon cancers by 24 percent. Getting up and walking around more frequently throughout your day can help to decrease these risks greatly.
Choose less toxic cleaning supplies. It’s no secret that cleaning supplies contain very strong & harsh chemicals. Most people don’t realize these chemicals, after an extended period of time, can cause consequential effects on your health including the development of certain cancers. By avoiding these cleaners and switching to organic or non-toxic cleaners, you can greatly reduce the risk of developing cancer and other major health problems.
Eat healthy. A balanced diet contributes to keeping a safe, and healthy weight. By avoiding foods high in fat and sugar, you can ultimately avoid obesity which has been linked to cancer and diabetes as well. Foods chocked full of fiber, along with fresh fruits and veggies, can all assist in cancer prevention while keeping your body healthy and strong.
Purify your water. As nice as it would be to be able to drink water directly from the faucet without any worries, it’s not always that simple. Tap water often times contains chemicals, debris, and even bacteria, which can all contribute to not so great health. Some of these chemicals include ammonia, chlorine, chloramine, and Trihalomethanes which are cancer causing carcinogens. By investing in a water filter or even a full home filtration system, you would ultimately be investing in, and protecting your health.
Drink tea. Studies have shown that drinking tea can reduce your risk of developing prostate, ovarian, lung, breast, and colon cancers. This is due to the antioxidant properties that help to detoxify cells and protect them from free radical damage. Drinking tea can also aid in weight loss, a stronger immune system, and improved cardiovascular health.
Ditch the non-stick cookware. Sure it’s nice to not have your eggs or slide right off the pan when their done but that comes at a very risky price. The coating responsible for the “non-stick effect ” contains chemicals and compounds that can accumulate in your bloodstream overtime and cause chronic illnesses such as cancer. These same chemical compounds can also be found in stain resistant clothing.
